Job Description

DESCRIPTION

The Builder Studio team is looking for a passionate and innovative Software Development Engineer with expertise in building scalable systems for AI integration. You will design, develop, and implement robust software solutions that address our core challenges around data quality, AI agent orchestration with appropriate guardrails, and optimizing resource-intensive AI workloads across infrastructure stacks.

Key job responsibilities
- Build scalable knowledge retrieval and AI orchestration systems to enhance developer productivity
- Develop infrastructure for hosting and scaling resource-intensive AI workloads
- Create frameworks for orchestrating AI agent interactions with appropriate guardrails
- Implement data quality monitoring systems ensuring reliable AI outputs
- Design solutions preventing factual errors in AI systems
- Optimize resource allocation for complex workflows
- Transform research findings into production solutions with applied scientists
- Build robust distributed systems handling complex AI workflows

A day in the life
The challenges you'll solve for at Amazon are big and influence millions of developers around the world. You'll work on building systems that help developers leverage the power of AI to accelerate their workflows and solve complex problems. In a typical day, you might collaborate with applied scientists to implement a new guardrail mechanism, optimize a resource-intensive AI workflow, or design a new component for our AI orchestration platform. You'll work in an agile environment where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years, directly seeing the impact of your work as developers across the organization use our platform to build innovative solutions.

About the team
The Builder Studio team is building a next-generation platform that combines advanced knowledge retrieval with AI orchestration to improve developer workflows. Our team is tackling three key challenges: establishing data quality baselines and metrics, orchestrating and managing interactions with required guardrails between specialized AI agents deployed across different stacks of the infrastructure, and maintaining hosting and scaling demands of resource-intensive AI workloads and their associated computational needs. We bring together specialists in machine learning, distributed systems, and developer experience to build scalable solutions that make AI more accessible, reliable, and useful for builders across the organization. We focus on transforming research techniques into robust, production-ready systems that deliver measurable impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
