Job Description:
Design and Configuration for SD-WAN: We have already built the ADVPN’s using the Fortinet templates, as well as enabled SD-WAN and defined the Zones, but that is the extent of what we have completed. We are looking to utilize best path selection for each service with basic steering of any internet destine traffic to go directly out for sites that have internet connections while keeping the ADVPN tunnels as backup. For corporate traffic, preference would be given to tunnels over private links but where an external link exists, then that could be used for load shedding as well as a backup connection. This would be a dual hub topology, with shortcut VPNs as required, and multiple tunnels to each hub.

The biggest challenge in this deployment will likely be how our DEV and UAT environments are stood up as they are mirrors of PROD, just with their own unique identifiers and endpoints; what we need to do is be able to reach those environments from PROD, ideally via shortcut VPN’s instead of routing through PROD to get to those environments, but for any sites participating in UAT or DEV, they don’t necessarily need to be able to reach PROD.

Regional firewall deployment and wireless refresh: We are in the process of deploying Firewalls to 41 sites along with refreshing our wireless access points. This work would primarily focus on streamlining the process, hardware prep and deployment support, this could be in office work or on the road work. Where there is inside work to be completed to support the new build, we will have a contractor out to run the cabling and mount the access points.

FortiAnalyzer Reporting: We have made FortiAnalyzer our central syslog system and are looking for assistance to build out reporting and dashboards to enhance team productivity in reacting to issue.

Other notes and requirements:

• For certifications, we'd be looking for someone with Fortinet's NSE4 or more advanced for some instant credibility.
• For experience, Fortinet firewall, switching and wireless and SD-WAN work in energy distribution environments would be an asset.
• Regardless of industry/vertical experience, we will need someone with deep hands-on experience across the Fortinet technologies mentioned.
• They're looking for someone that can travel to site frequently (Saskatchewan).
